SV09 battery price against Dyson Australia
Dyson Australia lists the V6-family genuine battery as a support part under V6 / DC59 / DC58. The SV09 sits on that same platform, so the comparison holds across the family.

OEM prices shown are Dyson Australia list prices for the corresponding genuine part, checked on dyson.com.au on 31 October 2026. Dyson changes prices and availability — confirm before relying on the saving figure. The saving column is subtraction between two published prices, not a quote.
Our AU $75.55 reading for an SV09 pack comes from the Dyson battery category listing, and the SV09 product page publishes prices in Reg / Sale form. The AU $45.79 figure on this page is the one taken from our SV09 product listing (List AU $67.99 → AU $45.79). Both are on aussiebatt.com today, which is exactly why we flag it.
Four reasons an SV09 owner buys this pack
3.0 Ah, 64.8 Wh
21.6 V × 3.0 Ah = 64.8 Wh — matched to short, sharp handheld jobs rather than a whole-house clean, and the energy figure that governs run time alongside the mode you use.
Panasonic cells
Panasonic A grade 18650 lithium cells with protection against over-current, short circuit and internal overheating, and 100 % QC of every battery.

What you receive
One battery pack and the screws already on the handheld. Nothing needs cutting or adapting and your existing 21.6 V charger stays in service. If the pre-motor filter is due as well, Dyson Australia lists the V6-family pre-filter at AU $35.00 — but wash and dry your current filter before blaming the pack for a cut-out.
Extras such as a printed fitting card, spare screws or a filter are not published on our SV09 listing, so they are flagged rather than assumed: [CONFIRM what printed material ships in the SV09 box].
Three steps, one screwdriver
The SV09 shares the SV03 fitting sequence, so our screw-in photos below are the right reference — the label in the first photo reads SV03.
-
1

Loosen the retaining screw
Unplug the charger. The photo shows an SV03 label; the SV09 uses the same screw-retained arrangement, so the sequence carries straight across.
-
2

Swap the packs
Slide the old pack away, line the replacement up to the same contacts and mounting points, and seat it squarely before tightening.
-
3

Refit, charge, test
Refit your screw snugly, then charge on your original 21.6 V Dyson charger. New packs arrive partly charged, so a full charge first settles the gauge.
Stop if the old pack shows any of this
Swelling, discoloration, a burnt smell, a drop or a soak, or cells rattling inside. Do not charge it and never puncture it — hand it to an Australian household-battery recycler.
Why Dyson SV09 batteries fail on this platform
A handheld in a hot cupboard is a tired handheld
Animal handhelds live in cars, sheds and hall cupboards, which is the worst possible environment for lithium: heat plus a flat cell permanently costs capacity, and a pack left at zero for months may never accept a charge again. Then there is the false alarm — a blocked inlet or a filthy filter on a small machine makes it cut out in under a minute and looks exactly like a dead pack. Clear the airway first, then check the signs it is time to replace, how long these batteries last and the care guide. If your SV09 is truly dead, this is the cheapest repair in the house.
Dyson SV09 battery questions, answered
Will fitting this SV09 battery void my Dyson warranty?
Most likely, yes, while the machine is inside Dyson's cover period — a third-party battery normally voids Dyson's cover on that machine. Our own limitation is published in full: our warranty does not extend to any products that are physically damaged or that are not under normal operating conditions as a result of misuse or improper installation on the buyer/user's part. See does it void my warranty.
Will my existing charger work with this pack?
Yes — the SV09 uses the same 21.6 V charger as the whole V6 family. Never substitute a charger of another voltage, and see the charger page if yours is missing.
Is it normal for a handheld battery to run hot?
Mild warmth after a hard session is normal; a pack too hot to hold, or one that only restarts after cooling for an hour, is not. On a small machine, check the airway and filter before condemning the cell, and stop using any pack that smells burnt or looks swollen.
How much run time will the SV09 get?
No minute figure from us, because aussiebatt.com publishes none and we will not invent one. The arithmetic is 21.6 V × 3.0 Ah = 64.8 Wh. Run time is that energy divided by the draw, which is highest on MAX and with a motorised tool fitted.
Is this a click-in pack, a screw-in pack, or a Type A / Type B pack?
The SV09 is screw-retained and reuses your own screws. Type A click and Type B screw labels belong to the older 22.2 V DC31–DC45 handhelds, where Dyson warns the same model can take either. For the difference, read click-in vs screw-in.
Why do two AussieBatt pages show different SV09 prices?
Because both are live: our SV09 product listing reads List AU $67.99 → AU $45.79, while the category listing shows an SV09 pack at AU $75.55. We publish both rather than average them, and mark it [CONFIRM SV09 selling price]. If you are charged a different figure to the page you ordered from, email info@aussiebatt.com with a screenshot and the part code, and we will settle it before dispatch.
