Dyson V7 Series Battery Replacement
The V7 platform runs at 21.6 V and takes a screw-retained canister pack identified by 968670-02, 225403 or the cell code 7INR19/66-1. Our 4.0 Ah replacement is AU $50.79 (list AU $70.99) with Sony A grade 18650 cells and LED charge lights, and it is the same pack the SV11 machine code uses. The one thing to get right: a V7 pack is not a V6 pack and not a V8 pack, whatever the photos on other sites suggest.

The SV11 price difference is real, and we have not averaged it away. The V7 and SV11 pages describe the same 21.6 V 4.0 Ah pack, but the SV11 wholesale listing publishes 4000 mAh at 520 g for AU $79.49 (regular AU $87.44), while the V7 listing publishes the same capacity at AU $50.79. Order against the listing that names your machine and check the total shown at checkout — [CONFIRM SV11 selling price]. Separately, the V7 Animal page notes that variant is "specifically designed for Animal models" and is not compatible with V6, V8, V10 or non-Animal V7 machines.

Against Dyson Australia
Dyson Australia sells one replacement battery for both V7 and V8 machines — part 972237-01 at AU $150.00, published as compatible with V7 codes 419671-01, 419672-01 and 419667-01. Our 4.0 Ah V7 pack is AU $50.79, which is AU $99.21 less, about 66 % below that list price. Dyson's one-part approach is exactly why buyers end up with the wrong aftermarket SKU: see the V8 platform page for how our two separate packs line up against that single genuine part.
OEM prices shown are Dyson Australia list prices for the corresponding genuine part, checked on dyson.com.au on 31 October 2026. Dyson changes prices and availability — confirm before relying on the saving figure.
Where the V7 sits in the AussieBatt range
The V7 pack stores the same 86.4 Wh as our V6 and V8 4.0 Ah packs because all three run at 21.6 V with four amp-hours. The differences that decide your purchase are fitting and part code, not energy. The V10 column shows the one Australian platform that genuinely changes the voltage — 25.2 V — and the 22.2 V legacy bar shows the old handheld packs that store barely half what a V7 does.
Storage matters more than most owners think: the V7 Animal page advises keeping a pack at 40–50 % charge in a cool, dry 15–25 °C space rather than flat in a cupboard or a hot car.
Typical faults on the V7 platform
The V7 is the platform Aussies ask about most, and the diagnosis order is always the same: airflow, then temperature, then the charger, then the cells.
V7 battery will not hold a charge
Charges fully, then dies within minutes. Filter and airway first, then the pack — the full Dyson V7 not holding a charge diagnosis order is written specifically for this platform.
Run time halved since new
That is normal lithium wear, not a fault. Before buying, read how to extend V7 run time — mode choice and filter hygiene account for most of the loss.
Stops on MAX, fine on standard
MAX draws far more current than the middle setting, so a tired pack shows up there first. It is also the classic sign it is time to replace your Dyson battery if the standard mode is short too.
One decision decides this purchase: the part code on your old pack. If it reads 968670-02, 225403 or 7INR19/66-1 at 21.6 V, the V7 4.0 Ah pack at AU $50.79 is yours and nothing else will drop into that housing. If it reads a V6 or V8 code, buy on that platform's page instead — they share a voltage but not a shell, and a forced fit damages the tool contacts.
What a V7 order includes
In Stock, grey, 3–7 days from the Sydney warehouse, orders processed within 24 hours, free Australia Post shipping, full 1 year warranty and 30 day money back. Your existing 21.6 V charger is reused; if the charger or dock itself is dead, that is a separate part — see which 21.6 V charger you need.
