If temperatures hit 35 degrees, you might start seeing a few problems such as freezing or shutting down so here are a few tips on keeping your gadgets from overheating.

A hot laptop isn’t just uncomfortable to use, it can also harm its components. If your laptop becomes too warm to comfortably keep on your lap, you should immediately take measures to cool it down. Just letting it rest while powered off for a few minutes often does the job, but you may need to clean its fans or reduce the workload you are expecting of the laptop–particularly if it’s getting old. If your laptop continues to be hot to the touch, it may need service.

Give Your Laptop Computer a Rest

If you have been running your laptop for extended periods, powering it down and giving it 10 minutes to rest will cool it down considerably. When you turn it back on, use only the applications you need and close them when you are finished. The harder your laptop works, the hotter it gets. Several applications running all at once increases the work of the processor and takes up valuable memory. When a computer begins to run out of memory, it uses the hard drive as virtual memory, which significantly increases the amount of heat the laptop puts out.

Dell Latitude E6500 Long Life Laptop Battery

Keep the Vents Free

Examine the bottom and sides of your laptop to locate the cooling vents. These vents work with the internal fans to bring in cool air and send out hot air. Blocking these vents by putting the laptop with HP 593554-001 extended life battery on a couch, bed or other soft surface interferes with the laptop’s cooling system–much the same as putting on a thick sweater on a hot day. You can also buy a stand that provides more air circulation beneath the laptop instead of it sitting directly on a flat surface, some even include fans to circulate air faster.

Use flat surfaces where possible

Of course, keeping your device out of the sun entirely is the most obvious way to keep it from overheating, but if you have no choice then try and make sure it is on a flat, and if possible, hard surface.

Putting your smartphone, tablet PC or notebook PC on a pillow or duvet will make it hotter as the heat won’t be able to pass away from the device and into the surrounding area, whereas on a flat, hard surface it will be able to.

Cool air falls to the ground so putting your devices here will help enable them to run at a more chilled temperature, even if it does require you to sit on the floor.

Take the cover off

If you keep your devices covered by a case, cover or pouch of some description then it’s a good idea to take them off when it is really warm to give your phone, tablet or laptop with 484170-001 battery some breathing space.

A little breeze might be enough to help lower its temperature so it continues to work properly but you can also try blowing into a port if you are keen on keeping the case on.

Shut down apps

The processor under the hood of your device is the main thing that produces heat and when you are running various apps and asking it to perform numerous tasks at any one time, it is likely to heat up, even without the sun.

It might not always help, but shutting down any apps that you aren’t using so the processor doesn’t work unnecessarily is worth a try.

Turn your device off

If you move from one extreme temperature to another, it is worth giving your device a few minutes to adjust to the new temperature before you throw any more tasks at it.

With laptops, you could also give the vents a clean or treat yourself to some laptop cooling pads to help cool it from below.

There is also the option to just turn your device off completely for half an hour or so. This will allow it to cool down completely as nothing is demanding the processor’s attention, but we suspect this will be your last resort.

Sunshine is great for keeping everyone in a good mood but there are a few that … How to prevent your laptop battery and other devices overheatingRead more

[3,5,6,4
782,783,784
post-1240","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-battery-knowledgebase","category-battery-wiki","category-how-to","category-laptop-battery-tech-tips","tag-dell-latitude-e6500-long-life-battery","tag-hp-530-battery","tag-hp-hstnn-ob77-battery
["GET
